GENERAL INFO

the 5th studio album by jerimiawongo, released april 9th, 2022. it was the first ever jerimiawongo album to contain 100% written lyrics (with the exception of “a freestyle from the classroom” and some other small sections of tracks), and was probably the most thought out jerimiawongo album to date up to this point. these lyrics were pretty much all made by us thinking of as much funny shit as possible, which was then written down in one big google doc and rearranged to make everything rhyme together. this was probably the funnest jerimiawongo album to make.

ALBUM COVER

the album cover (and album title) is a reference to “Some Rap Songs” by earl sweatshirt, which features a very blurry image of himself. this album cover is a blurry image taken of a dog named “bailey” (who is referenced throughout the album). the photo was taken on february 15th, 2022 at 18:29gmt, and is mostly unedited apart from a filter to make the colours stand out more.

BONUS LORE!!!: the lore is probably way too much to explain here, but to put it briefly: there was a teacher i had when i was recording this album. she wasnt a very nice lady to me and some other people in my class for like no reason (im not tryna be annoying here but genuinely i and some others never did anything wrong and she would still be a dick). one time we had “personal development” with her, basically some government mandated period in which u talk about real world shit like relationships or taxes and stuff. i was so bored and was feeling risky so i decided to record a full lesson with a voice recorder. this recording gave me all the samples which you can hear in the song. putting it together was fun as hell, especially the “verses” “sung” by her by splicing together a bunch of short audio clips. the loud slam which is used as the percussion is her slamming the door shut after getting angry at someone (for asking a question btw).

this song has pretty much become a staple to jerimiawongo and will probably be an inside joke between us until the end of time

ENCHILADA

another all time favourite. this one was fun to make & record as most of it is just random loops pulled from the garageband sample library reversed. it sounds so ass and its amazing. the vocal performance is really funny too my friend with the posh accent nailed it. theres not much story to this one its simply just a dumb song which we now reference very frequently between ourselves :)
