COPIED FROM GENIUS CUZ IM LAZY LMAO: the second studio album by jerimiawongo, released on christmas day as the follow up to administration & principal. santas elgato takes a more abrasive turn whilst still containing all the awful and annoying instrumentals and nonsensical lyrics as the last album.
accompanied by the lead single, “i know where you live”, santa’s elgato was released on december 25th at exactly midnight, gmt. the tracklisting was teased on twitter on december 18th, the same day the single was released, along with more images teasing the finishing of the album, the release date, and a short compilation album, containing unused tracks from the mason mixtape, administration and principal and santa’s elgato.
the album makes more use of samples and electronic sounds and beats created from normal vocals and objects, distorted to oblivion. this is where jerimiawongo realised they have probably taken the joke too far, but it is too late to stop now.
while shorter than the previous record, this album packs more of a punch to the listener, especially on tracks like albuterol[4afx], hitting you with a harsh high frequency, which only gets higher as the song progresses, and other tracks like 10.14[remake], hitting you with the worst verses you have ever heard.
the album cover’s original photo was taken on october 15th, 2021 at 13:49 gmt. it contains an image of a wet floor sign which had fallen over in the middle of a school hallway. the image was then put thru many filters, and had the album’s title written over the top of it. the image was then sent in a discord server, the discord server had then been put on a crappy monitor, and then an image was taken of the image on the monitor (hence being able to see “Open original” in the corner). finally, the band name was written over in white.
the final song recorded for the album, which stole the place for the opening track. the song features a very annoying sound, put through a filter which was left on by accident, but they found it funny so it was kept. the sound was produced via a frequency sound generator application downloaded onto an android mobile phone. (also giving the track its name. the v2 is due to the fact that the previous version did not have the merry christmas ending). the ending was made by shaking a bell on the end of a christmas hat, brought in by a member of jerimiawongo on the final day of school, in which you could wear whatever clothes you wanted.
was made to be a better opening track than ‘pstbckrb-1’, until that spot was taken by ‘hzabuse[v2]’ (as they found it funnier). the track gets its title from the date the album released. xxv is 25 in roman numerals, and decem is the person who the month of december was named after. the beat in this song was literally just found in one of the members phone, and they have no recollection of why it was there. the lyrics were freestyled, like most on this album. the ending, along with a lot of moments of this album, was sampled from a peppa pig ytp, which they have a lot of history with.
featuring a ear-piercing siren at the beginning, elgato was created as a contender to an earlier jerimiawongo track, “the queen is coming”, which at the time of recording was considered their best track. the only phrases said in this song are “mad”, which is a reference to the “riding round in a rover” fire in the booth freestyle, performed by unknown p, and “santa’s elgato”, taken from a peppa pig ytp, which ended up naming the album. the ending of the song is an extremely slowed down gurgling sound, with an extremely loud drum beat over the top.
the lead single for the album “santa’s elgato”, released a week before on december 18th, 2021. (i could write a lot about this, but ill do it later). it is the only track on santa’s elgato which has a music video.

this song was performed in 2 takes, creating part 1 and part 2, which were merged together with a small bridge in between. the second half was pitched up, while the first half kept the original pitch.

the first track recorded for the album. was originally gonna b the opening track until we had more of an understanding of what we were goin for.
BONUS LORE!!!: “pstbckrb-1” means “post backrub”, referencing the old name for google, which was backrub. another version for this song was made, but never released, which is why the 1 is added on the end. (<- i wrote dat like 2 years ago What?? shit does not explain what the 1 means). the reasoning behind all this google shit is that the lyrics are a reference to a line in the peppa pig ytp, which goes “have you all been google”

BONUS LORE!!!: dis was created after watching pingu in a discord vc for like half an hour.
it is a csocial commentary on how penguins are only seen as merry christmas :( and they are so much more. penguins are real animals and this song is a social commentary on how Penguins are a group of aquatic flightless birds from the family Spheniscidae of the order Sphenisciformes. They live almost exclusively in the Southern Hemisphere: only one species, the Galápagos penguin, is found north of the Equator.
BONUS LORE!!!: we were messing around with a frequency maker, the same one used to create the sound on the first track, “hzabuse[v2]”. this song was made purely to annoy people who were in the room. and it worked. we were told to shut up a lot of times during production, but we persevered. 2 drum beats were layered over with a lot of distortion
inspired by da song “ventolin” by aphex twin
an instrumental created only because of the drum pattern at the beginning. these drums were taken from nootnoot[rmx], but since they didnt fit that song very well, jerimiawongo created a brand new song just to use them, as they found them funny. this song samples ziggomatic 17 by aphex twin, with the song reversed and played throughout this song. it is played at the end as well, albeit very very distorted.
